Holiday tragedy: Driver dies in crash along Ronald Mapp Highway

The accident involved a blue BMW owned and driven by Courtney Browne, 49 years of #23 Alleyndale, St Lucy, and he was accompanied by his wife Tricia Browne, 47 years of the said address. The second vehicle was a blue AE 110 Toyota Carolla, owned and driven by Michael Mcclean, 37 years of 1st Avenue Rockley Christ Church.
McClean is Barbados' latest road fatality.
Police reported that McClean was reportedly travelling south along Bennetts Road (Ronald Mapp Highway) and the Brownes were heading north when they became involved in a collision.
McClean died on the spot.
Mr Browne suffered a broken right leg, while his wife complained of chest pains and lower abdominal pain. Both were taken away by two ambulances to the hospital for medical attention.
Two fire tenders responded along with 11 personnel. The Jaws-of-life apparatus was used to free persons who were trapped in the vehicles.

One driver in a two-car crash died on the spot.
Three days before Christmas and a family is now mourning the passing of their loved one.
The accident occurred along Ronald Mapp Highway about 300 to 500 metres to the North of Bagatelle Great House near Bennetts.
Police Public Relations Officer, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss confirmed the latest road fatality. It happened around 4am, this morning, Sunday, December 22, 2019.
The two occupants in the second vehicle were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by ambulance. Police were still on the scene after 7am.
