An appeal has been issued for Barbadians to give generously to The Bahamas.

And the Barbados Defence Force has assured persons that they will deliver the essentials.

Therefore, the call for action comes from the Barbados Defence Force which has set up a hotline and website for persons interested in making donations to the people in The Bahamas affected by Hurricane Dorian.

BDF is asking two questions - 'Are you touched by the loss of life and property, and consequential suffering, in The Bahamas as a result of Hurricane Dorian? Moreover, are you, individually or as part of a business or service club, moved to send relief supplies to The Bahamas?

Then, the appeal is for people to 'please contact the Barbados Defence Force at or email or call 536-2500.'

Under the flag 'BDF PLEDGES: HELP BAHAMAS 2019', persons are encouraged to pledge food, stock items, money, food, medical services, medical supplies or other. The theme is 'Together we pledge, Help Bahamas'.

With many persons skeptical about who to donate to in times such as these, the Force promises to deliver for the Bahamians. "The Barbados Defence Force is committed to facilitating the distribution of relief supplies to aid our Caribbean brothers and sisters in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas impacted by Hurricane Dorian."
