The celeb spotting has begun!

The Barbados Crop Over Hub is reporting that Rihanna landed in Barbados this afternoon and no doubt many locals and visitors will be hoping to see her at some of the events, as well as on the road on Monday.

In recent years, Barbados’ Crop Over Festival has been attracting some major international stars to take in the festivities of the big Crop Over weekend, especially Grand Kadooment.

The list, headed by none other than Barbados’ own Rihanna, also includes Formula 1 champion, Lewis Hamilton, supermodel Chanel Iman, actor Columbus Short, and actors/singers Serayah McNeill, V Boseman and Rotimi.

Other international names expected to be here on Monday are supermodel Jourdan Dunn, who has been to Kadooment before, and US viral sensation turned model, Jeremy Meeks – also known as ‘Prison Bae’. They have been confirmed as guests of 'boutique' band, Meta Worldwide.

Celebs for Kadooment

Culture Minister Stephen Lashley said in a media interview last year that the international buzz about Barbados and the Crop Over Festival is growing.

He said, “Celebrities in Hollywood are seeing that and Rihanna and other celebrities out there show that during the month of July and August you have to be in Barbados for Crop Over as it creates an international pull to bring persons here for Crop Over, which is what we want."
