It's Barbados says thank you to COVID-19 front line workers
From the donations of face masks, to the Clap Barbados initiative, more Barbadians are showing appreciation to those involved in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
Local advertising agency, It’s Barbados, is one such organization which is showering praise frontline workers.
One of the agency’s owners, Kyle Bennett Walcott, created a short video showing appreciation to the frontline workers from the fishermen to the medical doctors using the hashtag #Bimstrong.
“My mum is a frontline worker…a doctor. A lot of people in my family and a lot of people I know are doctors and we really as a company wanted to do something that would uplift people’s spirits,” Kyle said.
He said the message of the video was not only to express gratitude to the frontline workers but also to everyone living in Barbados who has taken steps to stop the spread of the virus.
“If everyone plays their part then we can get through this”.
As of April 23, the island has 76 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with six deaths recorded and 27 persons recovered.
