Jamaican national robbed at gunpoint in Tobago

Police are investigating a report in which a Jamaican national was robbed at gunpoint in Carnbee, Tobago.

The incident took place around 8:00 pm on Monday, along Auchenskeoch Road, Carnbee.

Police officers were told that the victim was at the Carnbee Service Station when he was accosted by two masked men.

One of the men was armed with a firearm and placed the weapon against the victim’s back as he announced a hold-up.

The two men then proceeded to take the victim's cash, cellular phone, and other valuables, in addition to the proceeds from the station – an estimated $9,783.

The gunmen then escaped in a waiting white Mitsubishi Lancer motor vehicle which didn’t have any registration plates.

The police were notified, and a team of officers led by Sgt Wilson and W-Cpl Williams visited the scene. CCTV footage was reviewed, and crime scene investigators found workable prints.

Sgt Wilson is continuing inquiries.
