Fearless Josh Burke on his way to 5th place in OBX

Josh Burke continues to make waves in the World Surf League Rankings after a great showing over the weekend.

His latest dazzling performance in the water saw him placed 5th at the WSL WRV Qualifying Series 1000 event in Outer Banks North Carolina.

And that result means the talented 21-year-old Barbadian has moved up to 3rd place on the WSL North American Rankings - which includes Mexico, Costa Rica and the entire Caribbean.

Burke revealed: “After Mother Nature did not co-operate with me in Virginia Beach, I went into the OBX event needing a good result, something higher than a 9th in order to increase my points.

“It was a bit of pressure I put on myself and it seemed to work although obviously I wanted to win, but a 5th in these events I am happy with."
Josh is currently ranked #77 on the WSL international ranking, which means he qualifies into the upcoming Prime WSL 10000 Ericeria event in Portugal from September 24-30.

Only the top 100 ranked surfers are guaranteed slots into these events.

So watch this space and make sure you keep an eye on Loop Barbados to follow Josh's successes.
