The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training has advised that the Lester Vaughan School, at Cane Garden, St. Thomas, will remain closed for this week.
The closure is to allow for the necessary environmental remediation to take place at the school. The school has been reportedly affected by a noxious smell and investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the smell.
Lester Vaughan is one of many government schools and departments which has been affected by environmental issues over the last few weeks.
The Ministry of Education thank staff, parents and guardians for their patience and understanding, and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
