Light & Power’s 'Brighten Your Christmas' promotion has changed its focus. The concentration is not on competition, but community.

This year the Company sought to rise to another level of engagement for the Christmas period by encouraging 'the community spirit' at this time through partnerships with entities already invested in the Barbadian landscape.

Light & Power reached out to the Child Care Board (CCB) to offer boxes of LED Christmas lights and decorations to share some Christmas spirit with their young charges.  The donation was received by the CCB’s Director Joan Crawford who explained that the lights would certainly bring cheer to many of the children in the community under the organisation’s care.

Boxes of Christmas lights were also given to the Community Development Department (CDD) with whom the Company partnered to stage two Yuletide concerts. The CDD’s Chief Community Officer (Ag), Pat Hackett-Codrington, along with Community Officer Bertram Bispham collected the boxes of lights, which were distributed in the Eden Lodge, St. Michael and Belleplaine, St. Andrew communities.

Ms. Hackett-Codrington said that the partnership this year helped the CDD to reach out to communities who appreciated the seasonal goodwill and will pave the way for continued work by the Community Officers.

The Barbados Light & Power Company remains deeply invested in our communities and would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our customers a safe and peaceful holiday season and a healthy, happy new year.
