Low water levels cause issues at Apes Hill, Trents facilities
Created : 8 June 2020
Low reservoir levels have disrupted operations at the station at Apes Hill.
Three parishes are being impacted as this station is currently offline.
The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) said that customers serviced by the Castle Grant system within its distribution network will be affected.
That is, customers in parts of St Andrew, St Joseph and St Thomas may experience low pressure or water outages.
St Andrew: White Hill, Hillaby and surrounding districts in St. Andrew;
St Joseph: Lammings, Chimborazo, Mellows, Bissex, Braggs Hill, Park’s Road, Horse Hill and surrounding districts
St Thomas: Cane Field, Welchman Hall and neighbouring districts in St. Thomas.
Customers in St James are also being affected due to issues at the Trents facility.
BWA's facility at Trents in St James is also operating at a reduced capacity due to low levels. This reduction may result in low water pressure for customers in some St. James and St. Thomas areas supplied via the Shop Hill system.
Water tankers are being dispatched.
