Man confesses drug use, asks for a break

A 30-year cocaine habit landed a 52-year-old man in jail yesterday.

David Alleyne Pryme of no fixed address admitted to possessing an apparatus fit for the misuse of cocaine when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant.

Officers found the apparatus on Pryme on April 18 after he was seen on Villa Road, Britton's Hill, St. Michael. A metal scraper was found on Pryme after police conducted a consented search. He told the police:

"I does use that when smoking cocaine chief, man give me a break"

While in the dock yesterday Pryme did not deny his use of cocaine saying: "It is a habit I have for over 30 years"

The magistrate remanded him until May 16 for sentencing.

Prosecution also revealed that Pryme was currently on $3000 bail for a wounding charge which allegedly occurred on July 12, 2016.
