Man on drug charges after he tried to walk away from police

Drugs found in the parking lot adjacent to a party-boat over the weekend left Rick Jabarry Clarke standing in the dock of a Bridgetown Court facing four drug charges.

The 29-year-old of St Stephen's Hill, St. Michael pleaded guilty to charges of:

1) possession of cannabis

2) trafficking cannabis

3) possession with an intent to supply cannabis

4) possession of an apparatus

The Crown told the court that police reported to the Old Willoughby Fort, Cavans Lane, St. Michael May 13, 2018. 

Clarke was standing in the docking area of the party vessel M.C. Buccaneer. As the officers approached, Clarke began walking towards a car and all the while looking at police and looking away. He eventually began to walk hastily which aroused the suspicion of the police. After a consented search of the car, drugs estimated to be worth $310 were discovered. A scissors and scale were also found.

Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant adjourned the matter until July 13 and placed Clarke on $1500 bail.
