Man falls to his death after accident

A family is mourning the loss of their loved one who fell to his death last night.

Police are investigating the discovery of a body of a male  found inside a well located a few meters off the carriageway in a bushy area at the junction of Bridge Cot and Cottage Road, St. George. The spot is situated directly opposite The Cottage Plantation House.

According to the police press release, police at Boarded Hall Station received a report sometime after 2:00 pm yesterday, Monday, August 20, 2018, that a motor car had appeared to be involved in an accident and it was in a ditch a few meters off the road.

Police responded, made a search and discovered the motor car in the bushy area. Further on scene investigations were carried out which led to the discovery of the body of a male in the well.

The immediate family members visited the scene and identified the body as that of John Pollard 50 years of Newbury, St. George, alias JP International.

Rescue personnel from Barbados Fire Service - two (2) fire tenders and twelve firemen; Twelve (12) soldiers from Barbados Defence Force  recovered the body from the base of the well.

 

Police are treating this as an Unnatural death.
