UPDATE: Police looking for assailant in Marhill Street stabbing

The victim of yesterday's stabbing has named.

Police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing incident which occurred sometime after 2:00 pm, on Thursday, January 11, 2018, whilst along Marhill Street, St. Michael, which resulted in Michael Alexander Holder, 43 years of No Fixed Place of Abode, being stabbed multiple times about the body. 

Preliminary investigations revealed that Holder was involved in an altercation with another man, when he was stabbed multiple times about the body by his assailant who subsequently fled the scene. Holder was transported to the QEH by ambulance for medical attention. 

Investigations are continuing. Anyone who can provide any information to assist with the investigation is being asked by the police to contact CID Central at telephone 430-7189, or 430-7190, Police Emergency number “211”, Crime Stoppers at 1-800 –TIPS (8477), or visit the nearest police station. 

Man with multiple wounds rushed to QEH by Ambulance

On Marhill Street from the Pool Hall at the corner with the traffic lights, to just beyond Chefette Restaurants has been cordoned off by the Royal Barbados Police Force.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Acting Inspector Roland Cobbler a stabbing incident has happened in the vicinity of Marhill Street in The City.

Cobbler said that the incident occurred sometime after 2:00 pm and the victim appears to be in his 30s. Initial investigations suggest that the multiple stab wounds about his body were received during an altercation with another man.

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.
