Man passes near 50 packages of drugs

The Royal Barbados Police Force is reporting another arrest for drug-related offences committed at the Grantley Adams International Airport.

Members of the Drug Squad have arrested and formally charged a Jamaican national, for several offences on Monday, January 26. 

He is 40-year-old, Deorian Orlando Duhaney.


Duhaney was arrested and charged for:

1.     Possession of Cannabis

2.     Possession with intent to supply;

3.     Trafficking Cannabis;

4.     Importation of Cannabis


Duhaney arrived on the island by air on Monday, January 26 from Jamaica via Trinidad. Having cleared immigration, he was interviewed by police, after which he was subsequently referred to the QEH, where he later passed out 47 taped packages containing cannabis.

He was subsequently arrested and formally charged for the offences and is expected to appear in the District ‘B’ Court today.

The weight of the suspected cannabis is 0.5 pounds, with an estimated street value of $2, 000.
