Man rescued from 40-foot well in St Philip

A 25-year-old man sustained injuries to his left leg and foot after falling into a well over 40 feet deep.

Around 1:30 p.m. Zico Haynes of Gall Hill, St. John was working on a septic tank with two other workmen at Long Bay, St. Philip, when he accidentally fell into a 43-foot well on the job site.

Two tenders and eight officers from the Barbados Fire Service under the command of Station Officers Codagan and Hinds, successfully rescued Haynes from the well sometime around 4:13 pm.

Haynes was subsequently taken by ambulance to the QEH for medical attention.
