Man says drugs were to 'help pay bills', sentencing soon

A move to "help out a family member" with bills, turned to out be one that landed a man before a court.
Kadeem Arvin Kyle Roach, of Britton's New Road, Britton's Hill, St Michael found himself charged with three offences - possession, possession with intent to supply, possession with intent to traffic and cultivation of cannabis. He admitted to the offences which occurred on June 25.
Based on the facts of the case, police found eight marijuana plants in the backyard of a residence where Roach stayed. The plants are estimated to be worth $1935.
Roach admitted that he was selling the drugs "to help make money to pay bills".
A pre-sentencing report was ordered by Magistrate Douglas Frederick. It is set to be completed by August 27 when Roach will reappear for sentencing.
The matter was heard in the No.1 District "A" Magistrates' Court.
