Man serious but stable after receiving multiple shots from gunmen

One man was wounded several times about his body when a group of gunmen opened fire on him and others.

Leon Lawrence's condition reportedly now is serious but stable having received several non-life-threatening wounds about his body.

About 10:15 pm, on Friday, November 23, 2018, police responded to reports of a shooting at London Road, Britton's Hill, St. Michael. On arrival, police learnt that Lawrence of Canevale Crescent, Christ Church and Britton's Hill, St. Michael had received multiple gunshot injuries and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by private transportation.

Police Public Relations Officer (Ag.) Sargeant Micheal Blackman said that further investigations revealed that Lawrence and others were at a shop in the area of Liverpool Road and London Road, Britton's Hill when they were attacked by several men all armed with guns.

A motor vehicle involved in the incident had bullet holes and is in police possession for forensic examination.

Police investigations are continuing.
