UPDATE: Man dies after St. Martin shooting

[Update: 2:43 pm, Wednesday, February 27, 2019]

Police are currently conducting on-scene investigations having responded to a report of a man being shot at St. Martin's, St. Philip on the compound of a business known as Wayne's Variety Shop. This incident reportedly occurred about 11:50 am today, Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

On arrival, police discovered that the victim had already left the scene by private transportation to seek medical attention. It was later learnt that the victim, a 35-year-old male, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. 

The immediate roadway has been cordoned off to protect the scene. All vehicular traffic has been diverted. Police investigations are continuing. 

Police are asking anyone who may have any information relating to this incident to contact District C Police Station at 416 8200/ 820, police emergency 211 or any Police Station. Information will be treated in the strictest of confidence.

Man shot on block in St. Martin's

One man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) after reportedly being shot several times.

He was taken to get emergency medical attention but according to reports, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away on the route to the Hospital.

The shooting incident occurred in St. Martin's, St. Philip, between Oldbury and Ocean City, St. Philip. Some call the area Harlington as well.

Police are on the ground already.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss confirmed the shooting incident.
