UPDATE: Police name man shot dead on Boxing Day
UPDATE [10:02 pm]: Police named the man shot dead today in the following press release.
Police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, 21 years, of Lakes Close, Eden Lodge, St. Michael, which occurred sometime around 7:00 pm today, at Eden Lodge, St. Michael.
Preliminary investigations revealed that at around 7:00 pm, Alleyne was walking through a track in the area of his house when he was approached by a man who shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Alleyne was rushed to the QEH by a private vehicle, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigations are continuing. Anyone who can provide information to assist with this investigation is being asked to contact the District ‘A’ Police Station at telephone 4307242, or 4307295. Christmas holiday celebrations in Barbados have been marred by a shooting death.
Public relations officer with the Royal Barbados Police Force, Inspector Roland Cobbler, confirmed that a 21-year-old man is the island's latest victim of gun violence:
"We are conducting investigations into the shooting death of a 21-year-old man, which occurred sometime around 7:00 pm at Eden Lodge, St Micheal."
