Man shot in Nelson Street

A man has been shot during morning rush hour at Nelson Street, St Michael.

The Royal Barbados Police force is reporting that a man was shot at 8:05 am in the area - one of two persons to be injured in violent incidents today.

Acting Public Relations Officer with the Force, Sergeant Michael Blackman, confirmed this incident and provided details:

"Police responded to a report of a shooting incident at Nelson Street, St Michael, which occurred about 8:05 am on Wednesday, December 05th, 2018."

"Circumstances revealed that Neverlane Springer, 39 yrs, of 3rd Avenue, Long Gap, Spooner's Hill, St Michael received gunshot injuries to his left calf and lower left foot."

He added that he was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) for treatment:

"He was taken to the QEH by private transportation."

Sergeant Blackman appealed to the public for assistance with this investigation:

"Anyone who can provide any information that can assist us in the investigations is asked to contact Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1800TIPS or any District A at 4307246, or the nearest police station."
