Mayers appears in court on firearm, ammunition, drug charges

A St. Michael man has been charged with a number of offences.  

He is 40-year-old Peter Ricardo Mayers of My Lords Hill who has been charged with possession of a 9mm pistol, possession of ten rounds of ammunition and possession of twelve cannabis plants.  

In addition he has been charged with assaulting Sophia Mayers occasioning her actual bodily harm on December 15, 2018.  

He is also charged with using threatening words with intent to cause Jelissa Mayers to believe that immediate unlawful violence will be used towards her. This incident took place on March 7, 2019.  

He appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today before magistrate Christie Cuffy-Sergeant where he was not required to plead to the indictable firearm or ammunition charges. 

Mayers however pleaded not guilty to all the other charges and was remanded to HMP Dodds on those charges. He is scheduled to reappear at the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on the 22nd of May 2019.
