Medics in Barbados in the COVID-19 fight are working overtime
Healthcare workers on the frontline of the COVID-19 fight, and in the healthcare system on the whole in Barbados, are working tirelessly.
Making sure that persons understand the work and effort that are ongoing behind the scenes, Head of the Infection Prevention and Control/Infectious Diseases Programs at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Dr Corey Forde highlighted the plight of his colleagues and said that they really are saving lives.
During a recent press conference, Dr Forde took an opportunity during an update to praise the efforts of colleagues in the healthcare community, many of whom are working overtime in their efforts to not only care for the COVID-19 patients but for general patients.
“I think we really have to really look at this particular pandemic in [our] country on a global basis, and I think we also need to appreciate the sort of work that many of the healthcare professions out there are putting in, from our orderlies to our nurses, to the doctors who work sometimes overtime doing things that they would not normally do, just a lot of effort being put in from our end,” stated Forde.
