Ministry scraps proof of address requirement

The Ministry of Transport, Works and Maintenance has announced that the public will no longer be required to provide evidence of address when registering a vehicle or renewing a driver’s licence.

The requirement for proof of address was first made last Monday by the MTWM stating the documents were part of the process to complete these two transactions.

The public was peeved by the new policy which was made clear with a barrage of comments on social media platforms.

The decision to rescind the policy was made following a wider discussion on proof of identity by the Cabinet of Barbados.
