Miss Universe Barbados thankful
Miss Universe Barbados 2017, Lesley Chapman-Andrews.
Lesley Chapman-Andrews may not have made the Top 16 at the 66th Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas, but she made many Barbadians proud.
The 26-year-old took to the official Miss Universe Barbados Facebook page to thank Barbadians for their support while declaring that she "did my best":
"Sitting on top of the world today. It’s telecast day and I know in my heart I did my best. I love you #barbados. The love you have shown me has been amazing. To all who came along for the journey I say Thank you. To all who have helped me prepare for this moment, I have no words to tell you how much you mean to me. And to everyone wherever you are I wish you nothing but Peace, Love and Positivity."
The Barbadian beauty also congratulated South Africa's Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, who was crowned Miss Universe at the end of the night: "Congrats to my sister @demileighnp the new @missuniverse. You will shine. I’m so proud of you!"
Miss Universe Barbados once again took to Facebook to thank supporters after the show:
"What an incredible night. Thanks to @fizzlasvegas for hosting us to an incredible after party! Of course I was styled by the amazing @vaingloriousbrides and @elitepourlavie in #charbelzoe #charbelzoecouture ❌⭕️❌⭕️. I hope I made you all proud!! Next up, some rest and then to my duties as your #missuniversebarbados for the remainder of my reign."
