Myths about medical marijuana being debunked
Many Barbadians - including those in positions of authority - have misconceptions about medical marijuana which have incorrectly shaped their views on the substance.
Now a group of medical practitioners are seeking to set the record straight.
The Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners (BAMP) will be seeking to help persons understand the difference between the substance and recreational marijuana, when they hold a public forum on the topic this Wednesday.
In encouraging persons to attend the discussion which will feature doctors, including a psychiatrist, anesthetists and pharmacists, Dr Howitt Malcolm, noted that "many persons believe that it is just marijuana prescribed by a doctor like what is done in California, but that is not the case".
The forum takes place this Wednesday at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC).
