New assignments in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgetown

In light of Monsignor Harcourt Vincent Blackett's request to be relieved of his duties, a slew of new assignments are scheduled to be rolled out across the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgetown next week.

Monsignor Blackett's last mass will be on Sunday August 16 at Our Lady of Queen of the Universe and then the new assignments will roll out from August 17.

Effective Monday, August 17, Father Andrew Rosiak will assume the role of Parish Priest in charge of Our Lady of Queen of the Universe and Chaplain of the Cave Hill campus of the University of the West Indies. He will continue as Priest in charge of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish.

Announcing the assignments was Father Clement Paul yesterday evening at the end of the Holy Mass at theSt Patrick's Roman Catholic Cathedral.

He said:

"Father Vibert Stevens will serve as Adminstrator of St Patrick's Roman Catholic Cathedral until further notice and continue as priest for the Corpus Christi community and Chaplain for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

"Father Clement Paul and Father Winston Lane will be rostered to celebrate some of the masses at the Cathedral. Father Paul continues his duties as co-delegate and Priest of Our Lady of the Rosary and Sacred Heart parishes.

"Father Kirt Prospere is back after a year-long pastoral assignment in the Toco/Matelot community in Trinidad. Father Kirt will serve at St Dominics and St Francis."
