New community centre hit by bullets in Silver Hill shooting

The new Silver Hill Community Empowerment Centre has not even officially opened its doors yet and it's been damaged by bullets.

Police are conducting investigations into a report of a shooting incident which occurred at Silver Hill Drive, Christ Church about 11:20 pm on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

According to the police release, late Wednesday morning, the police responded to Silver Hill Drive, Christ Church where there was a report of gunshots in the area. On arrival there, a search of the area was conducted and two live rounds that appeared to be .45 calibre bullets and two shells were retrieved between Blocks 11 and 12.

There was also a bullet hole in the wall at the rear of the Chesterfield Brewster Youth Empowerment Centre. The keys for the building were handed over earlier the said same morning from the Maria Holder Memorial Trust to the Youth Minister Adrian 'Medic' Forde, with the building set to officially open early in 2019.

No one was injured.
