Newly crowned Miss Universe Barbados, Miss Hillary Ann Williams
There is a new Miss Universe Barbados.
The news was announced after the Miss Universe Barbados 2019 winner, Shanel Ifill, officially relinquished her title.
On the official website of Miss Barbados Universe, the organization has said that Shanell Ifill has signed with a major London-based talent agency to pursue a professional career in modeling.
The 20-year-old was crowned Miss Universe Barbados 2019 in September last year and has since received a slew of opportunities within the field of modeling.
However, with a major contract coming up for grabs, the former Miss Barbados Universe would have no choice but to relinquish her title.
The new Miss Barbados Universe, Hillary Ann Williams, will take up the prestigious title going forward.
"In accordance with the guidelines set out by the Miss Universe Organisation, it means we must now crown a new titleholder to complete the next 7 months of the reign. We ask Barbados to join us in whole-heartedly welcoming Miss Hillary Ann Williams."
On the Miss Barbados Universe website and Instagram page, they expressed excitement in supporting Shanel Ifill in the future.
"Ifill, 20, was crowned Miss Universe Barbados 2019 on Sept. 7, 2019... Along the way, she took full advantage of modeling opportunities that came through her title...Shanel officially relinquished her title as Miss Universe Barbados 2019 to pursue these amazing opportunities. We are very excited for all that the future holds for Shanel, as we cheer her on her journey."
