New Music Festival adds to Pure Grenada tourism product
Pure Grenada Road Show in Barbados.
Grenada will have a Music Festival this year and it will only add to the Pure Grenada tourism product.
After talks of cancellations, this was one feature that seemed to be off the Spice Isle's calendar events and in the Year of Festivals at that, but one promoter chose to make a difference.
And for this Grenada's Tourism Authority is appreciative.

Chatting with Loop News in Barbados, at the Savannah Hotel recently, Marketing Manager, Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) Francine Stewart was happy to share the news that a Music Festival was back on the cards.
"We are having one. It's a new one. It's June 7-9, 2019...
"We just saw the need and a brave promoter in Grenada decided he's going to step out of the box and make it happen. When the other one was cancelled there was [sic] a lot of cries like 'Why? You know, it's just is what it is,' and he decided he's going to try to make it happen so we're supporting him in making it happen."
Grenada is an island known for its resilience, its determination and its ability to come back from challenges. Beyond getting a new Festival together quickly, the island recorded over half of a million visitors last year, 2018. And in 2017, the tri-island destination which includes Carriacou and Petite Martinique captured two prestigious titles in the Caribbean Journal’s Travel Awards 2017. Grenada was named ‘Destination of the Year 2017’ while Chief Executive Officer of the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) Patricia Maher was named Caribbean Tourism Director of the Year 2017.
Speaking about the Grenada tourism product; keeping it authentic and sustainable, Stewart shared:
"The brand 'Pure Grenada - Spice of the Caribbean' helps us do that. That pure concept helps us to keep it authentic. We're not a mass market destination. We're only 133 square miles and we do have three islands. So because of all that, we are committed to making sure that the island remains pure, untouched, discovered but undiscovered, to ensure that everybody gets to enjoy when they come and come again."
The three-night musical experience unlike any other at the Grenada Music Festival, a collaborative effort of Q-west Production Company, the Government of Grenada and the Grenada Tourism Authority. It will be held at the Quarantine Point peninsula and will feature a blend of favourite classics with new and trending talent.
