Age is just a number, and 67-year-old Elizabeth Montano, mother of soca star Machel Montano, proved it when she collected her Master's degree in Cultural Studies on Saturday, in front of hundreds of fellow students.

In a post to her Instagram account, the amazing Lady, as she is known by her friends and family, even hinted at an upcoming book of memoirs:

“Another special moment in my journey. Many challenges but perseverance always wins. Praises to the Lord and to all those who contributed to the realization of this goal. Next the book and my memoirs!”

The University of the West Indies (UWI), St Augustine, shared a photo of her special moment via Twitter:

“#Spotted Our photographer caught Elizabeth Montano, mother of soca superstar @machelmontano shining in her own spotlight as a UWI graduate with a Master’s Degree in Cultural Studies from the Faculty of Humanities and Education (FHE). Congratulations!!! #UWIGrad2018”

“Congrats granny! We are very proud of you as you are our inspiration.”

“Congratulations!!! You are the best. I so wish I could spend more time in your space.”
