Trini girl and mother deny its her in the sexual assault video
A six-year-old girl initially believed to be the victim shown in a video being sexually abused by an adult has told investigators in Trinidad she was not sexually assaulted by anyone known to her.
The child’s grandmother took her to the Four Roads Police Station in Diego Martin, Trinidad on Thursday, February 1, 2018, and made a report, saying that she believed the child in the video was her granddaughter.
However, when questioned by officers, the child denied that she had ever been made to perform any sexual acts and she knew nothing about a video.
Later in the day, she was taken for a medical examination.
However, the child’s mother, around midday the same day, went to the St Clair Police Station in Port-of-Spain, denying that the girl in the video was her daughter.
Officials at the Child Protection Unit in Trinidad said that as a result, while the six-year-old did have a resemblance to the girl in the video, they are awaiting the report of the medical examination before proceeding further.
They confirmed that they had no suspect in custody nor were they searching for a man in Diego Martin who was allegedly beaten by his neighbours.
