One man shot at Brandons Beach

Panic descended on the usually calm beach spot on Sunday.

Panic descended on the usually calm beach spot on Sunday.

Police are investigating a shooting which occurred about 5 pm on Sunday 19th August 2018 along Brandons Beach,  Brandons St. Michael.

An altercation ensued amongst a number of males resulting in one man being shot in his right leg. He ran away and was later transported in a private vehicle to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical attention.

The assailants made good their escape on foot.

An eyewitness account from a bystander, who happened to be on Instagram Live at the time, gave some insight into the chaotic scene which saw many people scampering from the beach into Brandons Carpark. In the live video one gunshot is heard then the voices of people screaming and shouting follow. 

Police investigations are ongoing.
