Over $112,000 donated to QEH Accident & Emergency

Operations at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital's Accident and Emergency Department will improve within the next few months due to the generous efforts of Sol Barbados Limited and the Nation Publishing Limited.

The two entities partnered for the past eight weeks under the "Go Further for A Better Barbados" 100K challenge and surpassed their mark with flying colours by raising $112,707.35.

For every gallon of Sol Go Further Infinity Fuel which was purchased at the various Sol Service Stations across the island between October 5th and November 30th, a portion of the funds were taken out to be donated to A&E Department.

Speaking to the media during the cheque presentation at Sol Barbados Limited Head Office at the International Trading Center in Warrens was Marketing Manager Mario Greene.

Greene who said the 100K challenge was his brainchild described the experience as "gratifying".

"It was really a very gratifying experience to see this challenge through from inception to eventual execution. I'm very grateful for the support of Barbados and helping us to get the 100K and surpassing the 100K, that truly was a gratifying feeling. I think Barbadians at all levels identify with the challenge."
