Party boat security guard died in the line of duty

A party boat security guard is today dead after being shot while on the job.

The victim is Dave Archer, 32, of West Terrace St. James.

Police are carrying out investigations into the shooting incident on board the MV Dreamchaser, which occurred about 10:35 pm last night, Monday, June 10, 2019.

According to the police report, circumstances revealed that the deceased, who is a private security guard on board the MV Dreamchaser, along with other security personnel had reason to intervene in a fight which occurred moments before docking.

It is reported that the assailant exited the boat and returned with two other males. Security was alerted and a struggle ensued, resulting in the security guard being shot. 

Police and ambulance were summoned and Archer was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by police vehicle.

Archer died at the QEH.
