Party Central host says a big ‘Thank you... but no!'
Lil Rick wants a Party Central Tabanca.
Party Central events are done for the Crop Over 2018 season, but they’ll return before next Crop Over.
However, not as soon as the newly crowned Sweet Soca Monarch Lil Rick would like.
Loving the vibe at last night’s season finale, while deejaying, Lil Rick encouraged the hundreds, if not thousands on the grassy grounds to beckon the hosts to organise a ‘Party Central Tabanca’ for the Monday after Grand Kadooment.
And Loop asked Tamar Arthur if it worked. Laughing she said, “But no!” She quickly burst their bubbles and hopes on that note but offered an olive branch.
“The next one will be for Independence because after this now is Grand Kadooment, then we have to wait for another week, so it would be too far away from the season, so it’s best to let it end on a good note, and then come back for Independence.”

Asked how the entire season was this toss, Tamar said, “It was good. We got a lot more attention via social media. I guess cause I had someone in charge of social media now, so it got the awareness out much quicker and we got a bigger turnout, especially for the last one.”
In terms of challenges and hiccups, she said, “Nah! Never!”
Taking a bigger risk than many promoters in a sense, as she literally brings the party and crowd home, she used the opportunity to thank all her patrons – the newcomers and the annual, long-time supporters.
“I’d just like to say, thank you! Thank you for supporting over the years. It’s been about 11 years now, and incident-free for 11 years, which is unknown. And so basically, to my patrons, thank you for everything and see you for Independence as we continue to celebrate Barbados.”
