Pedestrian killed in St Philip accident

UPDATE [September 22]:

Police are continuing investigations into the road fatality which occurred sometime around 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday along St. Martins Road, St. Philip, at its junction with Harlington Road.

Dead is 68-year-old St Michael resident, Wilton McAndrew Brathwaite, formerly of St. Martins, St. Philip.

Brathwaite was struck by a minibus driven by Shawn Weatherhead, 43 years of Silver Sands, Christ Church, as he attempted to cross the road.

Brathwaite was rushed to the QEH by ambulance where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigations into the matter continue and anyone who witnessed this accident is asked to contact the District ‘C’ Police Station at telephone 416-8200, or 416-8201.


The Royal Barbados Police Force is investigating a road fatality which occurred sometime around 10:20 p.m. last night.

Police public relations officer Inspector Roland Cobbler told Loop News that a 68-year-old St Michael man was struck while attempting to cross St Martins Road in St Philip, by its junction with Harlington Road:

"He received injuries to his head and was rushed by ambulance to the QEH where he later succumbed to his injuries."
