It was a colourful and exciting finish to the inaugural 2019 Harris Paints Andrew Phillips Memorial Stages, a fitting tribute in the name of Harris’ founder.

The race, which was won by Andrew Mallalieu and co-driver Geoffrey Goddard, was a slick race with 13 teams competing for the win. The eight-stage special stage rally ran entirely within the St. Thomas facility.

This 'single-venue' rally format has never been used in Barbados before but is quite common in Belgium, Spain and the United Kingdom to maximise special stage mileage at venues where roads are limited in length like in Barbados.

John Marshall, Business Unit Manager at Harris Paints, said,

"Harris Paints is a brand for the whole family, with a focus on energy and colour. We also focus on being thought leaders in our area. It was great to be aligned with this event, which offered fun for the whole family, but in this energetic environment championing the skill of these drivers.”

Marshall noted also Andrew Phillips “left a legacy of innovation and creativity for us at Harris Paints, so we are happy to be able to support this event which has his name.”

Marshall presented the winning prize to Mallalieu and Goddard with Phillips wife Wynona. Many of the staff of Harris Paints were also in the stands for the event, cheering on the drivers and not missing any of the exciting action.
