Though cloudy skies threatened from above, Christmas in the Square proved to be a very sweet and cosy package for many Barbadians.

The Independence Square planned Yuletide event pulled out Barbadian families from all across the nation for the concert.

Performances which started at 6:00 p.m included the band Promise who sang melodies such as 'Parang Parang', 'Gee Whiz It’s Christmas' and 'Put A Little Love In Your Christmas' which kept the crowd in a bubbly mood. Necyxx featuring Mahalia did the number with their hit single '2MileHill'. The crowd really let go as they went into the chant of “Ley tay- tay”. They too performed Christmas songs and at one point brought; musician and popular singer James Leacock went onto the stage for a rendering of the lovely Soul Holiday Christmas piece.

Other performances included the melodic Anderson 'Blood' Armstrong who sang 'Most Wonderful Time of the Year', 'Calypso Christmas' and the 'Joseph Niles Melody'. He was definitely in his element. Tavon Boyce rendered 'Magic of Christmas' and 'Oh Holy Night'. Harmony sang 'Silent Night' and 'Mary Did You Know'. We could say she was in Harmony with the angels or she sang in perfect harmony, but let’s just say she was excellent.

Ending the night was Nicholas Brancker and Friends who finished the event with instrumentals.
