PM taking steps to put BWA on solid footing

Imagine driving across Barbados and not seeing a tangled mess of electrical and other utility wires strung overhead.

Those days are still coming, maybe not fast enough for Prime Minister Mia Mottley.

While addressing the Barbados Sustainable Energy Conference she gave the assurance that the plans were still on the table.

“We want to change how we layout whatever cabling we have for our electrical infrastructure because that, and all of our overhead cables need to move underground over the next 10 to 15 years in this country,” she told participants gathered at the Hilton Barbados Resort.

The Prime Minister also revealed the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) had completed over one per cent of its planned mains replacement programme.
