Police conducting investigations in The Ivy near St Giles School

Some teachers and students at St Giles Primary and Nursery in The Ivy, St Michael were frightened when a shot or shots rang out near to the compounds after 10am this morning.
Loop News received reports that teachers were given the all-clear at 11.15am to return to classes and resume teaching at the Primary School.
The Royal Barbados Police Force Public Relations Officer, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss told Loop that "They [officers] were doing a search warrant at somebody's house." Police had caution tape across Martinique Road stopping through-traffic near the scene.
The PRO stuck a pin in the rumors that are flying around, saying, "nobody was shot to death or any of that stuff that was circulating" and he reiterated that incident did not occur on the premises of the school.
Residents in The Ivy said that they heard police sirens yesterday evening after 2pm and one resident said that police made an arrest in the community.
