A woman is nursing injuries at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) this morning after being stabbed at her home.
Judy Hoyte, 56, told police she was stabbed by a person who entered her home in the wee hours of this morning.
Public relations officer with the Royal Barbados Police Force, Inspector Rodney Inniss, confirmed the incident:
"She reported that she was asleep and somebody reached in and came through her front door. She subsequently became involved in an altercation with the person".
He added that the Waterford, St Michael resident is currently being treated at the hospital:
"She sustained injuries to both hands, fingertips, her neck and her head. She was taken to the QEH and is there now receiving medical attention."
Inniss said that while investigations continue, they could not provide details on the attacker at this time as Hoyte was unable to give a description while she is undergoing treatment.
