Update: Police identify body found in St. John

Update: Body identified by police, June 11, 2018 4:00 pm 

The body discovered early this morning at Wakefield Road, St. John has been identified as that of 38-year-old Antonio Mapp of Sherbourne #3 St. John.

Police extended condolences to the immediate family and relatives of the deceased. 

Police are appealing for anyone having any knowledge relating to this incident to contact District C Police Station at 416 8200 /8201 or the Criminal  Investigation Department at 430-7189 or any Police Station. 

All information will be treated with strict confidentiality.

 

Update: Body discovered off road in St John, June 11, 2018 10:03 am 

Public relations officer with the Royal Barbados Police Force, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss updated Loop News on the discovery of a body in St John this morning.

He said they are "at the scene of an unnatural death".

"Having received a report via telephone from an individual stating that he sighted a motionless body off the roadway along Wakefield Main Road in St John. We received that call about 20 minutes to nine o'clock this morning. On arrival police did in fact confirm the discovery - a motionless body of a male."

He also informed the public to use an alternative route at this time, as the are is cordoned off:

"We have cordoned the area - restricting both vehicular and pedestrian traffic - as we are carrying out investigations into this matter."

 

Original Post: Police investigating 'incident' in St John

Members of the Royal Barbados Police Force are currently on the scene in the area of Wakefield Plantation in St John.

While police public relations officer, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss said he was on his way to an "incident there", he could not confirm reports that they are investigating an unnatural death.
