Police issue warning, say no officer shot

The Royal Barbados Police Force is urging the public to be responsible with their social media posts, as they refute a claim that a police officer was shot.

Acting Public Relations Officer with the Force, Station Sergeant Michael Blackman (ag), told the media that a post about a member of the Force being injured is false: 

"There is a video currently being circulated on social media, falsely indicating that a police officer was recently shot and injured. 

"That seems to be an old extract from some years ago."

He went on to warn the public that they have a responsibility to be careful with what they circulate on social media: 

"I wish to urge the public to be more mindful of these social media videos as they only put unnecessary fear in the lives of law-abiding citizens."
