Police tip leads to 36-y-o man's arrest and drug charges

Members of the Suppressing Criminal Activity Targeting Society, (SCATS) Unit have arrested and formally charged Dwayne Anderson Gibson, 36 years of Harlington St. Philip, for drug-related offences committed sometime around 7:20 am, today while in The Pine.
Gibson was arrested and charged for:
· Unlawful Possession of Cannabis
· Unlawful Possession of Apparatus
At around 7:20 am, as a result of information received, members of the SCATS Unit went to the area of the Pine Commercial Estate, Pine, St. Michael, near the Barbados Water Authority Headquarters. On arrival there, several employees of the Water Authority including Gibson who is also an employee of the Barbados Water Authority, were seen. Investigations were conducted and during a search, the cannabis and apparatusweres discovered in a car owned by Gibson.
Gibson was arrested and subsequently charged for the offences. Gibson appeared before Magistrate Douglas Fredericks in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court today, Friday, October 20, 2017.
He pleaded guilty to the offence of Unlawful possession of apparatus and was fined $350 to be paid in one week, or one month in prison.
He pleaded not guilty to the unlawful possession of cannabis and was granted bail in the sum of $2 500, with one surety to reappear in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court March 18, 2018.
