Police warn businesses as cashier robbed at gunpoint

The island's latest robbery has caused the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) to issue a warning to the business community.

Public Relations Officer with the RBPF, Sergeant Michael Blackman, provided details on the aggravated burglary:

"Police responded to reports of an aggravated burglary at Zepherins Bakery located at Tudor Bridge, St Michael, about 2:25 pm on Monday, November 12th.

"Reports are that a lone adult male, armed with a gun, robbed a female employee of alcoholic beverages and money of an unknown value."

He provided the following description of the robber while asking the public for assistance with this investigation:

"The culprit is about 5'7" tall wearing a blue and white sweater with a hoodie, 3/4 pants and had a black scarf covering his lower face.

"Anyone who can provide any information which can assist in these investigations is asked to contact Black Rock Police Station at 4177500, Crime Stoppers at 1800TIPPS(8477) Police emergency at 211 or the nearest Police Station."

Sergeant Blackman also urged the business community to do all they can to safeguard their property:

"The  business community is also advised to be more vigilant with regard to their surroundings and to take appropriate steps to enhance their security capabilities"
