Barbadians can rejoice as mail to the United States of America (USA) has resumed.

However, there is only a small window of opportunity.

A notice was issued via the Government Information Service saying that Barbados Postal Service has resumed the acceptance of mail items for posting to the USA with immediate effect, up to Tuesday, December 15. The notice was issued yesterday evening (November 12).

Senders are also being warned to expect delays.

"Persons are asked to note that delays in the delivery of mail are to be expected and that delivery before Christmas is not guaranteed."

In addition, the Postal Service will continue to deliver all incoming international mail, as well as mail posted locally, and will inform the public when normal service to the USA, beyond December 15, will be resumed.

Mail service between Barbados and Grenada, St Vincent, Antigua, Jamaica and Canada resumed in July 2020.

There is no outgoing mail to the United Kingdom.
