Traffic was backed-up along the South Coast this afternoon as Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) employees dropped hot tar to fix some of the potholes.

Loop saw the MTW workers busy at work in the vicinity of the Richard Haynes Boardwalk in Hastings, Christ Church.

They were trying to work busily and quickly along Highway 7, dropping, shovelling and raking the bitumen and marl mix.

All of the potholes were not filled but a difference will be observed as drivers proceed from Hastings down to Bay Street.

Previous work done by the MTW recently in the area of Goodlands was being scrutinised by the Barbados Road Safety Association (BRSA). The President said that some of the patchwork and "quick fixes" looked as though they may not last long. So the BRSA assured residents that they will keep a watchful eye on the repair works and keep their fluorescent flags to mark potholes on standby.
