President David Granger has called on young Guyanese to think about their future when they cast their ballots on March 2.

Granger used the A Partnership for National Unity+ Alliance For Change (APNU+AFC) political rally last night at the Diamond Tarmac, East Bank Demerara to talk directly to the youth and he reminded them that his administration was responsible for restoring disbanded programs such as the National Service and Guyana Youth Corp.

“We are going to deal with the problem of youth unemployment in this country. Young people had nowhere to go when the PPP (People’s Progressive Party/Civic) scrapped the National Service. We have now re-established the Guyana Youth Corp and we will train a thousand young people every year for the next ten years,” Granger stated.

He boasted that the region’s youth now has access to quality education at a “real campus” in Kuru Kuru and they can become future business owners and leaders when they participate in programs such as the Sustainable Livelihood Entrepreneurial Development (SLED) and Hinterland Employment Youth Service (HEYS).

“Young people, you don’t have anything to fear from the APNU+AFC! We have to hand this country over to you and we want you to be educated and employed,” Granger added.
