UPDATE: Double fatality crash being investigated by police

Witness appeal issued for double fatality accident from Friday, one hour after another fatality.

The Royal Barbados Police Force is launching a public appeal for anyone who has witnessed either of these two events to contact the District A police station at 430-7242/7246 or District C Police Station at 416-8201 / 8200, or any Police Station.

Two families grieving the loss of their loved ones.

The two deceased males who died on the spot were identified as 

  1. Lamar Small, 31 years of Edey Village, Christ Church. He was the pillion passenger travelling on the motorcycle.
  2. The driver of the motorcycle was Omar Chase, 33 years of St. David Village, Christ Church.

The owner and driver of the motor van is Wayne Cummins 48 years of Packers Valley, St. Patricks, Christ Church. He complained of minor lacerations and bruises.

Both the motorcycle and the motor van sustained extensive damage.

Riders die on the spot in two-vehicle collision

Three people lost their lives in two road fatalities which occurred yesterday within an hour of each other.

The second road fatality occurred about 6:50 pm along Foursquare Road, St. Philip, Friday, May 25, 2018, involving a motor van owned and driven by a 48-year-old male and a motorcycle ridden by a male and accompanied by a male pillion rider.

The motor car was travelling towards St. Patrick's from Six Roads whilst the motorcyclists were travelling in the opposite direction.

For some apparent reason still under investigation, both vehicles collided head-on resulting in both the riders receiving fatal injuries. They were pronounced dead on the spot.


Police investigations are continuing.
