Rihanna's charity keeps adding up
Rihanna did more than observing and dived into teaching during her trip to Malawi.
Rihanna is many things. An entertainer, business woman, philanthropist among others... but a teacher?
You may just be able to add it to her resume - after all, she has the experience.
As the Barbadian superstar continues her charitable efforts through her Clara Lionel Foundation, she teamed up with The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and took a trip to Malawi, in an effort to promote quality education for the children of the African country.
While there, she held a press briefing with members of GPE, met with educational officials and showed off her teaching skills in mathematics of all subjects. Staying committed to highlighting the cause, she took to Instagram to tell her followers about the experience.
Rihanna's visit to Malawi
Rihanna shared a video of her trip on her YouTube page, where she spoke about the need to experience what life and the education is like for the children of the country.
"I’m really here to see it. It’s one thing to read statistics, but I want to see it firsthand and find out all that can be done and where to start first. Thank you for allowing us to be here and join in a partnership with you,” she noted during the press briefing which included among others: Malawian Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Emmanuel Fabiano; board chair for the GPE and former Prime Minister of Australia, Julia Gillard; co-founder and CEO of Global Citizen, Hugh Evans.
